If you’re interested in creating a greener, more energy-efficient home, your kitchen is a great place to start. Energy-efficient appliances will conserve energy, reduce energy costs, and create a healthier environment.
New energy-efficient refrigerators are designed to save energy while providing flexible storage capacity and convenient features. Energy Star qualified refrigerators use 15 percent less energy than non-qualified models, and models with top-mounted freezers use 10-25 percent less energy than side-by-side or bottom-mount freezer models. Energy-efficient features include variable speed compressors and fans, advanced defrost systems, and humidity sensors. When buying a new refrigerator, choose a size that fits your household needs and look for the Energy Star label. Convenient features like water dispensers and ice makers will use more energy.
Stoves and Ovens
New stoves and ovens don’t have federal energy regulations or Energy Star labels, but they do have energy-efficient features. They can be powered by natural gas or electricity. Electric stoves and ovens are typically cheaper to buy, but gas stoves and ovens are usually cheaper to operate. Whether you prefer gas or electric, new stoves and ovens don’t require preheating, an oven feature that uses a lot of energy in older models. Newer ovens reach temperatures so quickly, preheating is no longer necessary. New gas stoves and ovens feature electronic ignition instead of pilot lights which reduces gas use by 30 percent. New electric stoves feature advanced burners:
* Solid disk elements and radiant elements are installed under glass. They’re easier to clean but take longer to heat up using more electricity than electric coils.
* Halogen cook tops use powerful bulbs filled with a halogen gas like iodine or bromine. They create radiant heat under a ceramic glass surface which is easy to clean.
* Induction elements use electromagnetic waves that turn the bottom of the pot into a heating surface. They provide a cool cooktop surface, accurate temperatures, and maximum energy efficiency.
Energy-efficient dishwashers save energy and water. The Energy Guide label found on all new models estimates the amount of energy used and yearly operating costs. Most of the energy used by your dishwasher, approximately 60 percent, is used to heat water. Newer dishwashers use less than half as much energy and water as older models and have energy-efficient features including energy-efficient motors, improved water filtration systems, high-powered jets, and built-in soil sensors that detect when dishes are clean.

Before we were hit by the devastating and traumaric super typhoon Yolanda I am hooked writing articles in an online hub who pays liking and commenting post. I am doing good in terms of my earning as I can reached the minimun payout in less than a week. Earning a hundred or more in a month is more than enough for me.
However for some reason I could not login to my account. I even tried searching the pseudonym I am using but I could not even search my post. Maybe my account was deketed by the admin, this is the only reason I know why I cant search my profile. But then, I received all the cashout I’ve made so I am having a doubt if my account have been deleted.

It was November 8, 2013 when super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit our Province. We don’t have any idea about the storm surge, so we stayed at home because we believe that our house can stand the wind. With this, there are thousands of people lost their lives and some are still missing, my older brother and my niece are among who lost thier lives while his wife and two children are still missing. This could not happened if we were know about the storm surge. Anyway, today mark the third months anniversary after Yolanda, yet the bad exprience that we encountered in saving our lives is still fresh, especially my son who seemed to be observant on the weather.
Hence I’have been sharing the negative effect that typhoon Yolanda brought us, today I want to focus on the positive side.
As most you are aware of, I and my family were badly affected by the typhoon, the super typhoon leaved us roofless and ruined our belongings. There is no need for me to put my rants and experience into words hence I choose to focus on the good side of it.
Help are Pouring

Ruined schools in our town are being rebuild by Koreans. They are aldo giving away school supplies to the students in town. In our barangay building and repairing comfort rooms are on going.
After three months some homeowners startef to rebuild there homes and started shopping of appliances and kitchenwares. As for my family, our priority is to rebuild our home little by little. I know we need ample of time to finally get back to our life before the typhoon. But surely in God’s time we will accomplish our goal.

When I was in my elementary years, our place was hit by a strong typhoon. We don’t have electricity for almost a week and no drop of water coming out on our faucet and in our neighbor’s faucets. There are no deep well in our place so we have to go to the next barangay to fetched water in the deep well.
Imagine, if you’re so thirsty but when you tried to get water from the faucet, you just squeezed a drop. Can you cook without water? Can you keep a good personal hygiene without water? In short, can you live without water? If you answered NO, then you must act now.
Recent studies showed that the Philippines is facing a water crisis over the next 10 years unless new sources are developed to meet growing demand.
“There is a [Japan International Cooperation Agency] study that says that in 2025 if we will not conserve water, there may be some problems. But of course we can always start conserving now and look for other sources,” said Edgar C. Lopez, Philippine Waterworks Association president.
“Groundwater in the Philippines may be depleted by the year 2050,” a University of the Philippines professor said in a report based on a study that started in 2006.
“The Philippines is one of the countries in Asia Pacific that is facing an imminent water crisis unless steps are immediately undertaken to improve water management,” according to a study by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The country is facing this unfortunate reality and we are not supposed to ignore it.
In line with this, a group of communication professionals and graduate students from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is pushing a social marketing campaign to encourage the Filipino families in water conservation. They aim to create massive awareness on how important the discipline in water consumption is and what would be the worst scenarios if the Filipinos failed to act now.
The group is also hosting a Conserve Water Challenge 2013, encouraging the participants to share their creativity in presenting water conservation tips and how they implement it in their daily lives to lowered their monthly water bill. A participant can make use of video, photo collage or blogs. The best entry and the one who will proved to have lowered their water bill by applying the water conservation tips they have presented will win P5,000 cash! There are also 10 consolation prizes of P500 worth of water bill. The submission of entries is until September 15, 2013.
Water is Life. Conserve Water NOW before it’s too late.

Just recently, while talking to the boyfriend about the future he mentioned that he needs a comfortable bed to sleep on. I am not actually surprised because of his way of living; he has been living comfortably all his life while I came from a simply family in the province. When the boyfriend mention about having a good bed when we are finally together, the first thing that comes to mind is getting a memory mattress.
This type of mattress is not cheap but a friend of a mine guarantee that this foam is made of good quality. How about you? Do you have a comfortable bed to sleep on? The mattress I am using may not be as expensive as the memory mattress but I am certain that is it comfortable.
…how to wash the dishes.
He has been asking me to let him do our dishes but I am not yet convince that it’s the right time I teach him how to do it.
While we were having our dinner he asks me again to let him do the dishes. And, because I feel like he is really interested and eager to learn I give in to his request so I let him do it but I was standing next to him to correct if he is not doing it right. To make the story short, the little one is very proud after he finished doing the dishes. He even asked me to let him do it again tomorrow.
My friend is right; my baby is not a baby anymore. Time flies so fast and before I knew it, he is taller than me, already. At the age of 8 years old his height is already 4”6 and I am only 5”1.
At work, our safety is very important. But we could not deny the fact that most of the time safety is often neglected. And, often times its already too late when we realize it. Why neglect our safety when our goal in working it to earn for a living.
Construction work is a type of work that needs proper gear and equipment. So if you’re in this kind of work, whether you are a construction worker or you supervise the construction, you should practice safety. I know you will seldom see a woman in this kind of work but it is not a secret that there are lots of women engineers and architect nowadays.
Are you one of the few who are into construction work? If so, I highly recommend that you wear womens steel toe shoes for your safety.
